Our little miracle

God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me... I remember as a child singing that song in church and still find myself humming it to my kids as they drift off to sleep.  As I was putting them in bed tonight each of them had their list of thank-you's and prayer requests but as I walked out the door Hailey our youngest half asleep caught my hand and held it for a moment... in that moment I saw time fly by.

I remember holding that tiny hand many hours after she came into this world.  The first time I saw her she was about 7 hours old and fighting for her life.  She was born premature unable to breath on her own, with various complications with her blood.  The doctors prognosis was not good and she was put on a ventilator in the NICU.  I can't really say what I remember about those 40 or so hours of waiting... I don't even think I prayed with words... my heart was broken and calling out to God all on its own... and God was certainly listening because at 6:30pm on Sunday evening as many churches were in prayer our little Hailey was healed.

The Doctors will tell you the same.  They were watching her little body go down hill, I remember confusion on their faces and disagreements in their conversations...  I remember them saying there was very little chance, it was all so foggy, almost like a dream.  But I clearly remember them coming out of the little 'surgical' room at the NICU and the bafflement on their faces mixed with wonder and excitement telling me that her lungs had began responding and they declared her 'out of the woods'.  There was still an uphill battle which kept us there for more weeks however God had been good, so good to me... would He have equally been good if He had decided to call her home to heaven... we all know that living for God isn't always fireworks and miraculous signs but I have to trust that our faith in Him, His love and Lordship would have seen us through.

I really have no idea why I wrote all of this too you today... I have been studying Corinthians and was all set for that to be my 'thought for the day' I guess God's plans are always better...  Remember that God is so good... even in the rough times, He's so good to us.

We had an awesome time at the kidZvillage GREAT escape, lots of great conversation, crazy antics and laughter!  It was a wonderfully needed break, an opportunity to pick one another's brains and make some new friends.    I left on Tuesday with bag's under my eyes (from staying up till 2) great looking nails (I think I tried 5 different colors) and a smile on my face... Thanks to all who came and made it such a blast!
